U15 Cricket vs Skegness Grammar

N Stone - Yesterday - Notice

On Tuesday afternoon our U15 Cricket team travelled to Skegness to play in the year 10 cricket league. In a low scoring match the QEGS batsman struggled to gain momentum eventually finishing on 68 runs from 16 overs. The bowlers performed well, in particular Charlie Storr and Cameron Duff who both took early wickets. Despite the team's excellent bowling Skegness chased the total with one over to spare. Well done to the whole team.

Year 9 Girls Rounders Team

L Shoubridge - Yesterday - Notice

Congratulations to the Year 9 Rounders Team who came 2nd at the District Tournament this week.
They won all their pool matches convincingly and went on to play Caistor Grammar in the semi-final.
We lost the toss and had to bat first but were able to secure a couple of rounders in the first few batters to settle the nerves. Heroic fielding by our players meant that 7 of Caistor's team were out, mainly at 2nd base and we were able to progress to the final.
Sadly the girls narrowly missed out on the win in the final, losing by 2 rounders. The fielding side of QEGS Horncastle were just a bit too strong and organised for our hitters.
Players of the match go to:
Hanan Abdulraheem - her hitting was superb; she was able to direct her shots away from the fielding team in order to be our top scorer
Leila Gad - she played absolutely brilliantly on 2nd base; catching all the balls throw to her and stumping the majority of the opposition out
